ABOUT THIS PATTERN
UPCOMING: This pattern will be released on 27 September 2024!
Event Horizon Cirle Scarf is a luxurious, intricate circle scarf worked in 2 colors of worsted weight yarn that can be worn in multiple ways – as a bolero, shawl, loop scarf, cowl and more. It is a fun and challenging knit that incorporates a variety of different techniques – 2-strand intarsia (no bobbins needed), basic knit and purl textures, honeycomb stitch, and simple lace. It is worked flat, beginning with a provisional cast on, and connected end to end with kitchener stitch for a seamless construction.
Event Horizon circle scarf is a collaboration with Urth Yarns.
This pattern is available on Ravelry for €10.00
MATERIALS AND TOOLS
Recommended Yarn
Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors.
A smooth plied yarn without fuzz will result in beautiful clarity and stitch definition. Very dark colors will obscure the texture, so a light- to medium-dark color is generally recommended. Likewise, yarns with a lot of variegation or very tweedy yarns are not recommended, as they obscure the difference between the knit and purl stitches.
Sample was knit with Urth Yarns 16 Worsted in P20 (color 1) and P60 (color 2).
Needles
5mm / US 8 / UK 6 80cm/32″ circular needles (or size to obtain gauge).
Gauge (per 10cm / 4″ after blocking)
19 stitches x 26 rows in stockinette
Gauge is not critical in this project – deviations are possible, although a row gauge of more than 26 rows per 10cm/4″ will result in a smaller circumference, possibly making it too short to wrap double.
Sizes available
One size fits all.
Finished dimensions (according to recommended gauge):
Pattern results in a scarf with a 150cm/59″ circumference and 52cm/20″ width.
